Supporting your student’s Avatar

Take a look!  this is your students creativity in action.  The more positive feedback you give, the more invested they become and the more effective the motivator.

Keep track of their progress.  The Avatar lets you see the progress that your student is making on their academic goals.  It lets you see a record of their accomplishments. BOOKMARK their page and check back at least every week.

Comment on the page!  Create an account on and post a comment.  Keep it positive!

Participate!  Ask your student what they have planned for the character, or what challenges they might enjoy.  Ask them how you can help.  A common challenge is for students to show work to, or discuss their grades with a parent.

Advocate!  If your student has done something praiseworthy or that you want to reward them for, mention it to the tutor and earn them experience points.  Did your student clean their room?  why not give them experience points!

Create real world rewards!  We all love extrinsic rewards.  Buy your student an itunes music credit when they level up, or let them pick what’s for dinner.  The key is to acknowledge their accomplishments, and let them know that you care.

Talk to your tutor!  Tell them about goals that you have for your child, or ask for help motivating the child to accomplish tasks that you value.   We are always glad to hear from parents by phone, email, in person, or via a posting on the site.
